Gradient 5.2 is the result of years of research. The coaxial driver technology developed by Gradient and SEAS of Norway combined with passive radiator manufactured exclusively for Gradient have made it possible to manufacture a compact 2-way loudspeaker of the highest quality. Gradient 5.2 has a modern Scandinavian design, combination of traditional craftsmanship, real wood and new smart materials.
TAILORED FREQUENCY RESPONSE
The sound balance of Gradient 5.2 is based on long term listening tests and measurements. The on axis frequency response and the power response curves are optimized to give a balanced, airy and easy-to-listen sound. The passive radiator, designed by Gradient is situated in the rear wall of the loudspeaker enclosure. It extends the bass response at the lowest frequencies, without the common disadvantages of vented box designs. Gradient 5.2 will delight the listener with a clean, open sound stage and true to life bass impact.
The new BFC (Black Fibre Cone) one point source driver developed by Gradient and Seas of Norway is very special. Covered by our new extremely transparent grill design it exhibits controlled dispersion patterns, allied to an ultra smooth spectral balance, in a wide listening area. The trademarks of this design are, pinpoint sound staging with exceptional depth and width. The on axis frequency response and the power response curves are optimized to give a balanced, airy and easy-to-listen sound. The passive radiator designed by Gradient extends the bass response at the lowest frequencies. It is situated in the rear wall of the loudspeaker enclosure.
The cabinet of eight litres, is very easy to position. It can be placed in horizontal or vertical position. Best results are achieved on good quality stands, even close to a back wall. Excellent results can also be attained with Gradient 5.2 fixed on wall brackets, or on a bookshelf.
FOR CINEMA SURROUND SYSTEMS
A high quality multichannel sound system can be built using Gradient 5.2 for front, center and surrounds. Since the similar coaxial driver has been used in Gradient floor-standing speakers, equal phase properties give the opportunity to mix different Gradient models successfully to produce the very best, cinema and Hi-Fi systems.
AN EASY AMPLIFIER LOAD
The nominal impedance of the Gradient 5.2 is eight ohms and rarely drops below seven ohms, making an easy life for even low powered amplifiers.
The cabinet of Gradient 5.2 is made of finest quality solid birch. The back and front wall of the speaker cabinet are rigid Finnish birch plywood coated in Italian Fenix NTM® nano-tech matt material. The Fenix NTM®, available in white or black is astonishing new material in many sense. The extremely matt surface is not just good looking. It is also resistant to fingerprints and scratches.
