GRADIENT CC-1

In the mid-90s, home theaters began to be built in Finnish homes. In 1995, Gradient introduced its own, more versatile solution, which consisted of the CC-1 centre speaker and the DS-1 surround speaker in addition to the main speakers.

The goal in the design of Gradient CC-1 was clear articulation of speech as the center channel speaker in a Home Theater system reproduces the dialog of the actors.  The speaker used the same unique technology as the top part of the then flagship model Revolution. This and the ingenious mechanical design enabled versatile installation of the centre speaker on different sides of the TV or screen.

Since the rear channel of the Dolby pro logic system was monophonic, an excellent spatial impression was achieved even with one correctly placed dipole speaker. The Gradient DS-1 could be installed on the back wall behind the listener, between the wall and the ceiling, or on the ceiling above the listening position.
